SSC CPO Recruitment 2026: Sub-Inspector in Delhi Police & CAPFs – Apply Online

Staff Selection Commission has released the Sub-Inspector in Delhi Police and Central Armed Police Forces Examination, 2026 for recruitment to SI posts in Delhi Police and various CAPFs. The examination includes Sub-Inspector (Executive) in Delhi Police for Male and Female candidates, Sub-Inspector (GD) in CAPFs and Sub-Inspector (Fire) in CISF-Male. The official notice is dated for upload on the SSC website on 10 September 2026.

As per the tentative vacancy table, there are 1,871 vacancies in total. This includes 205 SI Executive Male posts and 112 SI Executive Female posts in Delhi Police, 1,320 SI GD posts in CAPFs, and 234 SI Fire posts in CISF. The CAPF vacancies cover CRPF, BSF, ITBP, CISF and SSB.

The online application process will remain open from 10 September 2026 to 30 September 2026, with the application closing at 23:00 hrs. The online fee-payment deadline is 1 October 2026 at 23:00 hrs, while the application correction window will be available from 8 October to 10 October 2026. The CBT date has not been announced yet.

The selection process consists of Paper-I, Physical Standard Test (PST)/Physical Endurance Test (PET), Paper-II, Detailed Medical Examination (DME)/Review Medical Examination (RME), Document Verification and final allocation based on merit and post/force preferences. 

Qualification

SI in Delhi Police & SI (GD) in CAPFs

Candidates must possess a Bachelor’s Degree from a recognized University or equivalent.

Candidates appearing in their Bachelor’s Degree examination can also apply, but they must possess the required qualification by the closing date of application.

SI (Fire) in CISF

Candidates must have either:

• B.Sc. with Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics, or
• Matriculation + 3-year Diploma in Mechanical, Civil, Electrical, Automobile, Chemical, Mining, Aeronautical, Telecommunication Engineering or equivalent.

Higher qualifications such as B.Tech/M.Tech in relevant fields may be considered as value addition, subject to the basic qualification requirement.

Additional Requirement – Delhi Police Male

Male candidates applying for SI in Delhi Police must possess a valid LMV Driving Licence for Motorcycle and Car on the date of PE&MT. Candidates without this licence can still be eligible for SI in CAPFs.

Exam Pattern

Paper-I

Time: 1 Hour, with a 15-minute sectional timer for each part.

Paper-II

Time: 1 Hour, with a 20-minute sectional timer for each part.

Paper-I has 0.25 marks negative marking for each wrong answer, while Paper-II has 0.50 marks negative marking for each wrong answer.

NCC Bonus Marks

NCC certificate holders can receive bonus marks in both papers:

• NCC ‘C’: 5% of maximum marks
• NCC ‘B’: 3%
• NCC ‘A’: 2%

 Physical Test

The examination includes Physical Standard Test (PST) and Physical Endurance Test (PET). These tests are mandatory and qualifying/elimination in nature; they do not carry marks.

The official notice prescribes separate physical standards for Delhi Police and CAPF candidates, including height/chest requirements and endurance tests.

Important: Ex-Servicemen are exempted from PET, but they must undergo PST and satisfy the prescribed physical and medical standards.

Medical Standards

Candidates qualifying Paper-II are required to undergo medical examination.

The notice specifies:

• Near vision: N6 (better eye), N9 (worse eye)
• Distant vision: 6/6 (better eye), 6/9 (worse eye)
• Vision should be without correction such as glasses or surgery
• No knock knee
• No flat foot
• No varicose veins
• No squint
• High colour vision required
• Candidate must be in good mental and bodily health.
