Indian Coast Guard Civilian Recruitment
2026: The Indian Coast Guard, Coast Guard Region (West), Mumbai has
released Recruitment Notification No. CGRHQ(WEST)/01/2026 for recruitment
to various civilian Group ‘C’ posts on a direct recruitment basis. The
notification includes vacancies for Store Keeper Grade II, Engine Driver,
Lascar, Civilian Motor Transport Driver (Ordinary Grade), MTS (Peon) and MTS
(Chowkidar).

Indian Coast Guard Civilian Recruitment 2026 Age Limit
The age requirement varies according to the post. For Store
Keeper Grade II, the prescribed age is 18–25 years, with relaxation
for eligible Government servants as per Central Government rules. Engine
Driver and Lascar posts require candidates to be 18–30 years old,
with applicable relaxations for reserved categories/Government servants. For Civilian
Motor Transport Driver, MTS Peon and MTS Chowkidar, the age limit is 18–27
years. The notification provides 3 years’ relaxation for eligible OBC
(Non-Creamy Layer) candidates against the relevant reserved vacancies and
other relaxations according to Government rules.

Process
The selection process consists of application scrutiny,
document verification, biometric verification and a written examination.
Candidates shortlisted after scrutiny will be called for document verification
and the written examination. A trade test will also be conducted
wherever applicable.
